First Official Soccer Entry on this Blog...US v. Mexico World Cup Qualifying Today

Today at 12:45 Pacific Time, one of the greatest rivalries on earth will be renewed in Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, Mexico. In a crucial World Cup Qualifying Match, the United States will visit Mexico and one of the more hostile crowds in the world. The imposing Estadio Azteca is the 5th largest stadium in the world fitting 105,000, sits at an elevation of 7500 feet above sea-level, and is engulfed in the unparallelled heat and smog of Mexico City, giving the Mexicans an unbelievable home field advantage. The US has never won in Estadio Azteca, and only 4 of the current 20 man roster has ever stepped foot in Aztec Stadium (estadio azteca for those who struggle with spanish).
I know here in Los Angeles, it's probably split 50-50 on who's rooting for who in this match, but hopefully around the country, the US squad has a few more supporters after their upset of #1 Spain and near defeat of Brazil in this summer's Confederation's Cup. If you want to watch the game today, it's on Television (not television, its Television the spanish channel) at 12:45 in Spanish, and Mun2 (good luck finding that on your TV) in English at the same time. I'm going to try to watch in Spanish just to freshen up on my language skills that have steadily deteriorated since my first semester Freshman spanish class (plus eccentric soccer announcing in any language is easily understood, whether it's English or Spanish. Take these guys for example...

"tear drops the size of pineapple chunks". classic.
Go USA!
