Welcome

Whats up everyone? I've been debating whether or not to start a blog for a couple of months now, and I've finally decided it wouldn't be a complete waste of time. Like I said in my "about me" info to your left, I am a senior at Cornell University where I play basketball for the the two time defending Ivy League champion Big Red. Of course, most of you probably know this already because if you are reading this blog right now, you are either a) a family member b) my teammate c) a close friend or d) an ridiculously huge Cornell basketball fan who I've never met.

What you may not know is that I've been blogging for a New York Times college sports blog called The Quad for the last couple of years.

Basically those blogs have been about giving the reader a behind the scenes look at the Cornell basketball program and college basketball in general. While those
blogs are undeniably awesome, luckily for you White Lies is not going to be about Cornell basketball (because like I said before...most of you who read this blog will probably already know 99.9% of what happens during practice or in the locker room). I'll give some anecdotes from our team from time to time, but if you're coming here for Cornell basketball coverage on a Pac-10 or ACC scale, I will direct you to an unbelievably in depth blog that somehow knows more about Cornell basketball than I do.

Just to give White Lies a proper initiation, I've attached below our 2008-2009 season highlight video because I honestly think it's one of the sickest videos ever...seriously (much respect to the guys at Slope TV who put it together). Turn your volume all the way up when watching this...if this song ("Lux Auterna") doesn't get you pumped up to do whatever it is you do, I am seriously worried about you.

White Lies is going to have a broad scope at first...I'll probably blog about a bunch of different things. Basketball news along with my corresponding opinion (sorry...it's my blog) is going to have top priority. NBA, college, high school, pickup, it doesnt matter...I'll write about it. Other sports news, gossip, or random thoughts will come after that, and everything else a.k.a. the miscellaneous category comes last. Don't count on me posting daily. In fact, the amount I post will probably be directly correlated to how many people are actually reading this...So enjoy it, let me know what you think. Be honest...
